Bento # 003-004-005 Sponge bobs - snowman - Picachu

I didn't get to post my last week blog because I was busy, so this week I am posting last week work.
I've decided to make sponge bob (a quick one, not a real one hehehe) from from fried egg yolks with the left over egg sheet to make Picachu. Snow man Bento box was only made because I've ran out off egg sheets as I was originally wanted to make a tiger face.

Anyway I've made some ham wrapped with snake beans and quickly fried them in a shallow pan. I've use the left over dinner boiled meat (pork) with spices then quickly deep fried and sliced (my mother in law made them, yep she made it not me!).

The rest of it as you can see just boiled broccoli, lettuce carrots, cheese etc.

I'm off now, will post the next one this week I hope to anyway!

cheers

Hieng
Happy bentoing :)

Bento # 002: Two teddy bears bento box

Hello there,

Back again for another post, this week the kids get all the same theme, so I only took one of the bento box pic. The bear are made from soy sauce rice coated with bonito flakes and cheese for the ears and nose. I have stir fried beef with oyster sauce and onions as side dish. The flowers are made from cocktail Frankfurt.

Enjoy & Happy bentoing :-)

Bento first attempt! Bento #001

I finally get to make my very first ever bento boxes. I had to make three because I have three little cousins. I've decided that I'll make them once or twice every week as a special treat.
My aunty told me that my cousin's lunch usually does not get eaten, but they prefered to buy something from the canteen, so hopefully this will help get them to eat their lunch.

Sports balls bento box - Stuffed rice balls with saute pork mince. I've used tomato sauce for the colour.

Tigers Bento Box
- Since I'm making these bento at the same time I've decided that they will all have the same stuffing (hehe that's what we had for dinner)
I've also coloured the tigers in tomato sauce and add some fried fish eggs for tiny side dish.

Two little pigs - It was a challenge when I've tried to colour the pigs using boiled red cabbage with a dash of vinegar, the colour before added to the rice was pink, but when I've added to the rice it didn't turn out to be very pink and the rice tasted a wee bit sour (but my lil cousin didn't notice it :p). I've also had some trouble with the cheese as I use the large straws to make the noses and ears, it keeps breaking and the cheese stuck inside the straws. Anyway it took a while but i finally got it right.

Well the verdicts? it was a hit, nothing left in the three lunch boxes and there's requests for more.

I am going to sign out now and will attempt more bento next week.

PS: I've got all the inspiration from the "yum-yum Bento box" book and the website.

Happy bentoing :) Hieng G
